Government warns energy suppliers – stop ‘mistreating’ customers

wallet

Your energy supplier says they will change your smart meter to pre-pay (or does it without telling you). Or they’re going to get permission to forcibly install a prepayment meter you don’t want.

What do you do?

From now on you reply (forcibly) that the government has warned suppliers to stop this and other kinds of ‘mistreatment’ of customers.

“Energy suppliers told they must stop the practice of forced fitting prepayment meters as the answer to families struggling to pay bills, following a huge surge in cases.”

Citizens Advice has led the call for this change in policy which is very welcome. If you or someone you know is struggling to pay household bills we can advise. Here’s how to contact us.
