What we learned on our work experience week at CAEE

Caitlin and Sofia joined Citizens Advice for a week’s work experience. Here Sofia writes about what they learned as part of the team. Caitlin and Sofia are students at a local school.

My week at Citizens Advice has given me valuable skills to use in the workplace. But I also got a wider view of Citizens Advice and the importance of its work.

thanks a bunch
We wanted to thank everyone at CAEE for making us so welcome.”

Caitlin and I distributed posters in the area advertising the help the organisation provides. This really demonstrated the support Citizens Advice has in the local area. It’s an integral part of the Epsom and Ewell community.

Meeting opportunity

We had the opportunity to attend a staff meeting and better understand the internal proceedings of the charity.

At the meeting we saw the commitment of CAEE employees and volunteers. They selflessly dedicate time to helping individuals affected by issues which often go ignored by the government. Additionally, taking minutes gave me a feel for the note taking I will have to do at university.

After my week of work experience at Citizens Advice, I feel better informed on the issues many people in my area are facing. And more aware of the incredible support available to them.

Our publicity adviser Jane says: “At CAEE we have volunteering opportunities for people of all ages. It was great having Caitlin and Sofia in the team and we’re delighted the experience was valuable.” Contact us to express an interest.
