It’s National Consumer Week: time to think wise and safe shopping

National Consumer Week 2022 (14-20 November) starts today. Our annual campaign* aims to raise awareness of consumer issues and provide support for shoppers who run into problems.

It’s the perfect time to alert people to consumer rights and potential issues. Shopping is at its most intensive in the approach to Christmas. On Black Friday (27 November) and Cyber Monday (30 November) millions of people will be shopping online.

This year’s NCW focus is advising people on how to spend wisely, what to look out for and what to do if things go wrong. Watch out for stories and information in local and national mainstream media and social networks.

NCW is important every year in our consumer society. This year it matters more than ever with a terrifying squeeze on the cost of essentials and inflation higher than many people have ever known.

At CAEE and across the CA network we’ll be doing our best to alert, inform and offer people help if needed.
