Rewarding experience – for Pippa volunteering at Citizens Advice is interesting and rewarding
‘My rewarding experience: working with interesting and inspiring people who help clients with a diverse array of issues and queries.’ Pippa.
Jane Sheils asked Pippa why she enjoys volunteering at Citizens Advice Epsom & Ewell.

Pippa left her NHS England job in 2023, then volunteered for various organisations. Having seen an advert for volunteers at CAEE she had a chat with our advice services manager and realised that joining us would be a worthwhile and rewarding experience.
Joining CAEE in December Pippa began covering reception and admin support on Tuesday afternoons; she then changed to Thursdays for reception during the 10am-3pm drop-in session; next, for two months we employed CAEE to administer the Household Support Fund; and now she is back to volunteering in a range of support roles.
Work with interesting people
Pippa particularly enjoys the scope of work whether it’s meeting clients, providing admin back-up for assessors or supporting Advisers. She likes the routine of the office and working with interesting and inspiring people who are helping clients with a diverse array of issues and queries.

‘Administration of the Household Support Fund was a particularly rewarding experience. The fund provided clients with immediate financial assistance and put them in touch with CAEE for further advice if required. On several occasions we helped clients with other debts simply because they had requested a supermarket voucher.’
