Assistant Treasurer

We are looking for a volunteer with knowledge and experience of Finance to join us as an Assistant Treasurer. Your primary task in this role will be to prepare management accounting reports and analyses for the Treasurer and the Board to facilitate robust financial management. To do this you would work in our office overseeing our Quickbooks system to satisfy yourself that data has been entered correctly and that the accounts are in balance before producing reports. You will work closely with our Chief Executive Officer and Treasurer and attend Board meetings if desired. In due course there may be an opportunity to join the Board as a Trustee.

You need to be available on a regular basis for between two and four days a month, although when you attend will be up to you. You also need to be able to commit to the role for at least 2 years. You need to be self-motivated and organised and able to maintain confidentiality. Attention to detail is important as are good computer skills – in particular you should be familiar with Word and Excel and able to use e mail. A financial qualification and experience of the charity sector and of Quickbooks would be an advantage, although training on Quickbooks will be provided. An interest in Citizens Advice and commitment to its aims and principles is a must.
