Marketing and Communications volunteer

We are seeking a marketing/communications volunteer to join our friendly publicity team.  If you enjoy writing and/or creative graphics this role is for you!

What will you do?

Working with our publicity team, you will help us communicate our free advice services to local people by:

  • creating copy for our monthly newsletters
  • creating posts for our website and social media
  • designing and creating posters and other publicity materials
  • coordinating content for internal comms.

What skills do you need to have?

You do not need specific qualifications for this role but you will need to:

  • have good writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • have good speaking skills
  • be friendly and approachable
  • be non-judgmental and respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own
  • have good IT skills including use of social media
  • be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection
  • be willing to undertake training in your role

Journalistic ability and/or marketing skills would be an advantage as would experience in using publishing platforms such as Canva or Publisher.

How much time do you need to give?

We are looking for volunteers able to commit a few hours every week.  But we can be flexible about the time spent and how often you volunteer so please come and talk to us.
